No one hurt after train hits 18-wheeler near Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - A train smashed into an 18-wheeler last night just north of Jonesboro. But no one was hurt in the accident.

Witnesses said the 18-wheeler crossed the railroad tracks when the warning lights were not on. But as the driver waited to pull onto nearby Highway 49, the lights came on, a train was coming quickly, and the truck driver was forced to wait for the wreck rather than pull into traffic on the highway.

The train hit the trailer and debris flew across the highway without hitting any traffic.

The train kept going without derailing.
