Grizzlies game delayed after fire in elevator shaft

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Nearly 12,000 people had to be evacuated from a Memphis Grizzlies game at the FedEx Forum after a small fire broke out in an elevator shaft.

A Memphis Fire Department spokeswoman says the fire was quickly extinguished and fire officials were venting smoke and preparing to let people re-enter the arena.

No injuries were reported.

The alarm sounded about a minute before game time and fans were told to leave the building.
