The Memphis Grizzlies are red-hot alright. Not just the grease fire in a kitchen at FedExForum that caused everyone to evacuate before the game, but the Grizzlies 7th straight win. They beat Charlotte 102-95 Sunday at FedExForum. After an hour and a half delay, the people came back in and the Grizzlies tipped off with the Bobcats. Lorenzen Wright made the most of his chance to start. Wright had 10 points in the first quarter alone, finishing with 13.
The game was neck and neck in the 4th quarter until Pau Gasol took over. Gasol drained the jumper to give the Grizzlies the lead 75-74 and they didn't look back Pau had 33 points and 15 rebounds.
Shane Battier had a funny experience during the evacuation before the game. When everyone was asked to evacuate the building when the fire alarms went off, Shane did just that. He went outside in his uniform and stood with all the fans. The rest of the players meanwhile went to the bus on the lower level.
"The last time I looked in the dictionary for the definition of evacuate means to leave the building, not sit on the bus in the tunnel. And that's what I did,"" Battier explained afterward. How classic is that, Battier standing in his uniform outside chatting with fans.
