After John Calipari told Tiger fans on his weekly radio show that he plans to stay at Memphis if the school is fair and committed to excellence, fans received even more assurance Tuesday. Indiana is finalizing a deal with Oklahoma's Kelvin Sampson to be their new head coach.
Monday a report in the Bloomington-Herald Times fingered Calipari as the top candidate for the Indiana job. But instead it goes to Sampson. He's spent the last 12 years at Oklahoma, rebuilding their program. The Sooners went 20-9 this season and lost in the first round of the NCAA tournament. He replaces Mike Davis who resigned last month.
