LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Plans are set to build a new bridge to link Arkansas with Mississippi along what would be Interstate 69. The problem is, the price tag for the project has risen to 715 (m) million dollars.
Arkansas highway director Dan Flowers says the federal government would bear 80 percent of the cost, with Arkansas and Mississippi splitting the rest.
The proposed bridge would link U-S 65 near McGehee with Mississippi One near Benoit in Bolivar County. It would be part of a larger project to link Canada and Mexico.
