Grizzlies Snap Losing Streak

It started with a last second shot at the buzzer and just like that, the Grizzlies went from a 7 game winning streak to a 3 game losing skid. Ray Allen's stunning buzzer beater Tuesday snow balled into 3 losses for Memphis, but they were determined to turn the page Sunday afternoon at FedexForum, topping the Atlanta Hawks 98-87.

Chucky Atkins got things going with a great bounce pass to Pau Gasol for a reverse layup. The Grizz put on a passing clinic on how to properly use the "bounce pass" early. Mike Miller then found Lorezen Wright under the basket with another one for the bucket and foul. The Grizz led by 10 after the first quarter. Josh Smith got hot for Atlanta in the 2nd quarter, he had 26 points but the Grizzlies were still up 7 at the half.

Gasol had 16 points 10 rebounds, but it's Chucky Atkins that leads them in scoring with 19 points.

"We were on a 3 game losing streak and we definitely thought we should have beat New Orleans. Now we come face a team like Atlanta that aren't playing for anything, so we have to give our best effort an get off the losing streak," Atkins said afterward.

"I just knew this team was going to bounce back after that loss at home and on the road. You know after those losses, we just gotta take care of home," Eddie Jones added.

Next up, the Grizzlies host Golden State Tuesday night.
