Bulldog Football Players Arrested

5-Mississippi State Football Players, including former South Panola High School Star Derrick Pegues, are charged with assaulting an off-duty police officer Sunday.

Their lawyer today says all are pleading not guilty.

All are Freshmen.

Police say an altercation started at a Sorority party in Starkville.

When Off-Duty officer Demetric Armstead intervened, the players alledgedly assaulted him.

Each player is out on $25-Thousand Dollars bond.

Their hearings are set for May First.

Bulldogs Coach Sylvester Croom is awaiting further legal action against the players before disciplining them.
