Trooper supervisor won't be charged over inmate relationships

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Prosecutors in Memphis won't pursue criminal charges against a Tennessee Highway Patrol supervisor.

Sergeant Timothy Holloway had been investigated over claims of improper relations with female inmates.

Prisoners from the state's Mark H. Luttrell women's prison work during the day at the Memphis THP headquarters. Their duties include cleaning, washing patrol cars and other jobs around the office.

The highway patrol has launched an internal investigation into whether Holloway should be disciplined for violating policy and has been waiting for a decision in the criminal case before completing it.

Prosecutors said they didn't investigate whether Holloway violated any highway patrol policies or procedures.
