KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Volunteers showed some improvements at the annual Orange and White game. But coach Phillip Fulmer says the team still has a way to go to get back where he wants it. Tennessee is coming off a 5-and-6 season -- the worst under Fulmer.
Fulmer and offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe have been promising a more exciting offense with more scoring, but the Vols showed little of that in today's game. The defense was also held back from blitzing. The White, led by starting quarterback Erik Ainge, won 34-to-7. Robert Meachum had a big game, completing touchdown passes from Ainge of 27 yards and 70 yards.
