Xplorers Lose 1st Game

The Memphis Xplorers are defending their AF2 championship just fine. 3 straight wins to start the season before stumbling to the Florida Firecats 60-55 Saturday night in the Fort Myers area. Florida won the league in 2004 so it was a good battle, especially on defense.

Joesph Creer hit quarterback Chris Wallace hard in teh first quarter and the ball popped loose. Big number 98 Chris Eggleston, a former Tiger, scooped it up rumbled in 35 yards for the touchdown. Later Mark Weivoda ran down Wallace for the sack. The Xplorers got out to a 20-0 lead. But the Firecats came back late to take the lead late 48-47 and hung on.

The Xplorers are now 3-1.
