The search is over for a bobcat spotted over and over again at a Shelby County school, after wildlife workers captured the animal.
Experts doubts the cat would have hurt the children but, said it's better to be safe than sorry.
The bobcat, who was affectionately named Bobby, had been sighted several times in recent days near Southwind Elementary School. The cat is estimated to weigh in between 10 and 14 pounds. Carl Hirscheider of ACB Wildlife Control, said he's not surprised the cat was in a populated area.
"I catch coyotes, foxes, bob cats right here within city limits between subdivisions," he said. "All this building and building is pushing them into these small wood lots and creek ditches."
The plan is for "Bobby" to be released back into the wild.
