They didn't get John Calipari, but North Carolina State did land a former Memphian. One time Grizzlies head coach, Sidney Lowe, was officially introduced as the main man Saturday. Lowe, who coached the Grizzlies when the team first came to Memphis, is currently an assistant coach with the Detroit Pistons.
He returns to his alma mater where he won a national championship in 1983 with Jim Valvano as his head coach. He says landing the N.C. State job was "definitely a dream come true."
