Grizzlies Owner Talks About Teams' Head Coach

Memphis Grizzlies majority owner Michael Heisley says it's too early to start talking about Mike Fratello's future as head coach of the team...

This in the wake of Sacramento firing popular coach Rick Adelman Tuesday.

Reached by phone at his home outside Chicago, Heisley told me he's, by no means, happy with the Grizzlies latest flameout in the post season...but, the dust has not settled on the job Fratello did in guiding Memphis to a 49 win regular short of the Franchise record, mostly accomplished without starting point guard Damon Stoudamire, who went down with injury 29-games into the season.

Heisley says he's well aware of Adelmans' credentials, an uptempo offense, 8-straight playoffs with the Kings, including a Western Conference Finals, plus 2-NBA Finals with Portland.

Heisley says Fratello has one year left on his Memphis Contract...and he'll soon talk with Team President Jerry West about it.

Fratello worked Tuesday nights' Cavs-Pistons game as an analyst for TNT.

Detroit won, 97-91.
