Collierville High School locked-down after suspicious activity

Collierville High School was locked down for a short time Thursday afternoon after suspicious activity was observed on the school's campus.

Around 1:00pm Thursday afternoon, the School Resource Officer at the school received a call from a passing motorist that three male subjects, dressed in camouflage, had exited a vehicle in camouflage clothing. The vehicle was allegedly parked in the western-most parking lot of the school. The group appeared to be armed, and were seen entering the wooded area adjacent to the school's property.

Fifteen minutes after the school was placed in lock-down, officers with the Collierville Police Department apprehended the suspects.

The suspects are currently in custody at the Collierville Police Department jail pending formal charges. Officials with the department stressed the incident was not being considered a school violence related matter.
