MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - You probably know that celebrity psychic Uri Geller and a couple of partners bought the first home Elvis Presley owned in Memphis.
Now, Geller says he got the word of his successful bid from Elvis himself.
Geller, attorney Peter Gleason and jewelry maker Lisbeth Silvandersson were the successful bidders on a ranch-style house Presley bought in 1956 as his career was taking off. He lived there for 13 months before fans drove him to buy the Graceland estate and move there.
Geller says he was traveling to London on Sunday in the closing moments of bidding on eBay for the Presley house when "Love Me Tender" started playing on the radio.
Geller says that was Elvis telling him, "Don't worry, you'll have my house."
The winning bid was $905,100 dollars.
Geller plans to restore the house to the way it was in 1956 and hopes he can open it to the public as a museum.
