Afternoon murder stuns Memphis neighborhood

A man was murdered Wednesday as he came home for lunch near the intersection of South Willett and Kerr.

Neighbor Jason Isabel said he couldn't believe his ears as the situation unfolded.

"I looked down the street and I see my man laying down," Isabel said. "And this guy sped off in a SUV going through stop sign after stop sign."

Isabel said his neighbor's lunch lay on the ground as he rushed to his neighbors side.

"All I tried to do is keep him conscious, keep his wound with pressure on it," he said. "That's the basic thing, trying to save his life."

Detectives at the scene said the shooting appeared to have started as a robbery. The fact the man was killed during lunch in his own driveway shocked neighbors on South Willett.

Police are looking for male driving a black or dark green SUV, possibly a Ford Explorer, that my be involved in the case.
