Collierville Baseball On to Spring Fling Again

It's Sectional time in Tennessee High School Baseball..

The last step before the Spring Fling State Championships get underway next week in Murfreesboro..

The Region 8 Triple-A- Champion Collierville Dragons host Region 7 runnerup, the Bolton Wildcats.

Drew Poemeranz, the brother of St.Louis Cardinal prospect Stewart Pomeranz on the mound and he gets out of a jam in the 3rd inning with a big breaking ball. Still scoreless 0-0.

In the bottom of the frame, Pomeranz does it with his bat, sending a bomb to center off Jeremy Stevenson... It clears the fence some 400 feet away. 1-0 Collierville.

Bolton answers in the 4th, one on when Ray Phillips gets the head of the bat out and rips one just inside the foul pole for a 2-run home run to gove Bolton the lead 2-1. But Pomeranz wouldn't give up much more.

And Collierville comes back to win it 5-3.

Collierville advances to its' third straight Spring Fling.

The Dragons will be the Top Seed out of the West at next weeks' State Championships.

Region 7 champion Bartlett Beats Germantown in the other Sectional..

The Panthers also advance to the Spring Fling in Class-AAA-.
