Man desperate to find homes for stray dogs

A Memphis man is faced with a life or death decision this afternoon. He must find good homes for his 10 dogs, or risk having them put down.

Jere Beasley has been taking in and caring for stray animals at his business on Democrat Road for the past 25 years. But the business was recently sold and Beasley has to vacate the premises by June 1. He's hoping to find good homes for about 10 dogs who are still in his care.

"All we're trying to do is find them a good home before it's too late," said animal lover Jere Beasley. "There are two of the dogs that are older and I may, with no (other) resort, have to put them down because I doubt they're adoptable. But the other eight you can see, they certainly are."

Beasley says he doesn't have room at his home for all the animals. There's more information about the dogs online, or call 482-0745.
