Memphian Matt Cain turned in the pitching performance of the year so far in Major League baseball. The 21-year-old Cain, threw a one-hitter Sunday against the A's.
The rookie became the fourth-youngest Giants pitcher to throw a shutout, the first of his career, in a masterful120-pitch performance. The Giants won 6-0.
He cracked the starting rotation this year, and we see why. After a rocky start, this should give him some confidence. His record improves to (2-5).
