MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The organization AARP says Memphis is one of five "dream towns" for people looking to retire.
The editors of "AARP The Magazine" hired a team of researchers to scout out the best places for retirement. Factors include income, property and sales taxes, weather, recreation and access to health care and transportation.
The other four communities seen as "dream towns" are Charleston, South Carolina; Rehoboth Beach, Delaware; Las Cruces, New Mexico; and St. George, Utah.
Tennessee AARP President Mary Stockley lives in Memphis and points out the many volunteer opportunities in the city.
