A thief stole the air conditioner from a Mid-South church and it's left the congregation with a hot problem.
This week, someone broke the lock on the South Memphis congregation's $4,000 air conditioning unit and hauled it away. Members were forced to bring in fans and other devices to keep cool during Sunday's services.
While they are troubled that someone would steal the church's air conditioner, members say the crime won't stop church services.
"You know, God can't stop just because of a little heat," said Pastor Michael George, of Covenant Restoring Ministries. "Jesus preached in the heat. So, why can't we?"
