Regents approve 4.1% tuition increase

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Board of Regents authorized a 4.1% tuition hike today as expected.

This affects the state's public colleges and universities outside the University of Tennessee system. However the UT students will pay a similar increase approved earlier.

With the hike, in-state students attending four-year regents' institutions will pay $150 more each year except at the University of Memphis, where the increase will be $172.

Tuition is going up $88 for two-year colleges and $72 for state technology centers.
