It's one and done for Bobby Jackson in Memphis. The Grizzlies guard will sign as a free agent with the New Orleans Hornets. Jackson's agent Andy Miller confirmed by phone Sunday night that Jackson will sign a multi-year deal with the Hornets July 12 when the free-agent signing period begins.
Jackson averaged 11 points and 3 assists per game in one season with the Grizzlies. The former 6th man of the year for the Sacramento Kings, started to sour in Memphis when he was not used as a started after Damon Stoudamire's injury. After a couple weeks, the team acquired Chucky Atkins and Jackson was back to coming off the bench.
In New Orleans/Oklahoma City he will back up Chris Paul. Speedy Claxton is expected to leave as a free agent.
