Girzz Top Draft Pick Injures Ankle

Ankles seem to be a problem for the Memphis Grizzlies top Rookies.

After going through the first day of 2-a-day workouts injury Free, Grizz number one draft pick Kyle Lowry sprained his ankle in Thursday mornings' workout and had to be helped from the court.

He's listed as day-to-day, but will travel with the team to play in the L.A. Summer Pro-Am League starting this weekend and running through the 19th.

Lowry was taken with the 24th pick in the first round.

Grizz second round pick Big Man Alexander Johnson of Florida State, is still nursing a sprained ankle suffered in the final Grizzlies Pre-Draft Camp Workout Last week.

Also, the Grizzlies officially announce Paul Courmier as an Assistant Coach.

He joins the staff as a replacement for Eric Musselman, who left to become head coach of the Golden State Warriors.

Courmier comes to Memphis after working as a scout and Assistant Coach with the Boston Celtics.

The Grizzlies will name their travel squad for the Summer Pro League on Friday.

First game is Saturday night against the Lakers.
