Former Tiger Stars Bring Football Camp/Charity Bowling to Memphis

You always knew whenever former Memphis Tigers star Running Back DeAngelo Williams returned to the Bluff City from the NFL, he'd give back to the community.

Just not this early.

With the ink barely dry on his pro contract with the Carolina Panthers, DeAngelo is putting his time, and his money to work, co-hosting a football camp at Kirby High School with another former Tiger now in the NFL, Defensive Back Reggie Howard.

The DeAngelo Williams and Reggie Howard Professional and Sports Leadership camp is, as the name implies, more than just a place where kids can come and toss the football around.

Williams says, "'It's fun you know, showing the kids where you've been and what you've learned. This is no ordinary camp. These kids were in class this morning.''

Adds Howard,

'It's just something where I want to continue giving back to the community and introducing the kids to some NFL players...interacting with guys who've made it to the big level.'

The Football camp runs through Saturday, 9am-4:30pm at Kirby.

Saturday night, Williams and Howard host a celebrity bowling challenging benefitting Breast Cancer research at Bily Hardwicks' All-Star Lanes off Quince at White Station.
