Memphian Loren Roberts has established himself as a force on the Champions Tour. The one thing he'd like to improve on though is finishing. For the second week in a row Roberts had a chance to win a major on the seniors tour but faded in the final round.
Roberts started the day with a 2 stroke lead at the TPC Michigan in Dearborn. he built it to as many 5 on the front side with a 2 under 34. But the lead quickly evaporated on the back 9. His tee shot on 11 landed in the tall grass and would make akes a double bogey. On 14 he hooked his approach in the jungle brush and would make another double bogey. That was it for Roberts. He finishes tied for 3rd at 12 under with a final round 74.
Bobby Wadkins limped into the clubhouse with a double of his own on 18, but the damage was already done. He won the players championship at 14 under.
