NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Tennessee Lottery reports gross ticket sales rose 18 percent in the last fiscal year.
The increase is attributed to the addition of Cash 3 and Cash 4 drawings. Gross ticket sales totaled more than $996 million in the fiscal year ending June 30th.
Since the lottery started in January 2004, it's raised more than $636 million for education programs in the state.
During the past fiscal year, 56,000 students attended Tennessee higher education institutions with the help of lottery-funded scholarships.
