Grizzlies Sign Johnson, Win in L.A.

The Memphis Grizzlies continue to lock down this year's catches from the NBA draft. Rookie forward Alexander Johnson signed a two year contract Monday. Johnson, who was selected 45th, was acquired via a draft day trade with Portland and Indiana.   The Grizzlies picked up 6-9" 240-pound bruiser in hopes of adding some toughness. He played 3 years at Florida State and so far in Summer League games, is averaging 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Speaking of the Summer League, the Grizzlies beat the Washington Wizards tonight 105-80. First round pick Kyle Lowry was the high scorer for Memphis with 19 points. He also had 8 rebounds. It's been a successful trip for the young guys, they're now 5-1. They'll play their final game Wednesday against Lakers.
