Huckabee urges vigilance after terrorist plot thwarted

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Governor Huckabee is urging Arkansans to remain vigilant after a terrorist plot was thwarted in the United Kingdom causing U.S. officials to go on heightened alert.

Twenty-one people had been arrested in the United Kingdom by early this morning and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security raised the threat to red for air travel from the United Kingdom and to orange for domestic flights.

The governor says state officials are working with the Transportation Security Administration and the Arkansas State Police to offer any security assistance they may need.

He says travel to and from Arkansas should not be overly affected as long as people comply with the new restrictions.

Basically, travelers cannot bring liquids onto airplanes. There are exceptions for baby food and medicines, but those must be inspected.
