Hot Time at the Track - WMC Action News 5 - Memphis, Tennessee

Hot Time at the Track

The NHRA drag racing in Millington this weekend may be hot but it's the race to keep cool that was top of mind to many Saturday.

With heat indices easily over 100 few took chances. "Beverages? That's all I can say. Yes. Beverages, water, shade."

Brandy Ma picked a hot day to go to her first race. "Probably going to be very loud and very hot." Which is why she and her friends brought along a modified AC blower and hooked it up to their RV. "It takes the edge off. Lots of shade, too."

One place there was no shade? The track. The temperature nearest the track was an estimated 10-to 15-degrees higher because of the asphalt and the cars.
