Memphian Shaun Micheel is officially back. A great week of golf at the PGA Championship had Micheel knocking on the door of a 2nd Major. He broke through in 2003 winning it all at the PGA, but hasn't been close to winning since. That would change Sunday with a 2nd place finish at Medinah C.C.
Micheel sank a 40 foot birdie putt on 5 to move to 11 under par. On 13, from the deep rough, he chipped in from across the green to move 13 under. On 18, Micheel tapped in for a 3 under 69, 13 under for the tournament. That would have been good enough to win, if well, Tiger Woods wasn't playing. He posted a 68 to win another major...the 12th of his career.
Woods cruised to a 5 stroke win (-18) over Micheel. Adam Acott, Sergio Garcia and Luke Donald tied for 3rd at 12 under.
