Former Tiger Baseball Star in Major League Record Books

On the Diamond Monday, former Memphis Tiger Daniel Uggla of the Florida Marlins

hit his 24th home run of the season.

That matches the Major League record for homers by a rookie second baseman.

It comes against the New York Mets. Uggla goes 5-5 with 3-runs.

Marlins win 16-5.

Earlier this season, Uggla - who never played above the Double-A- level before this year -

became the first Rule 5 draft selection to make the All-Star team as a rookie.
