Memphis Business Owner Killed in Overnight Shooting

A man was shot to death at the corner of Millbranch and East Holmes overnight. The victim was taken to the MED Monday night in critical condition but police say the victim died before he made it to the hospital.

Police say the man was shot in the back and the leg in the parking lot of Granny's Market at Millbranch at East Holmes.

Overnight Monday we talked with a woman who worked with with victim, she says she can't believe this happened.

According the woman we talked to the victim owned Café Napoleon in downtown Memphis.

Police say the business man didn't own the market where he was gunned down...but he did own a market across the street from Granny's.

We're also told that the man was locked inside his truck but it is not clear if that happened before or after the shooting started.

So far no one is in custody for this crime investigators are still trying to talk to witnesses to find out why the man was shot and who did the shooting.
