CORINTH, Miss. (AP) - Police say a nursing home employee was fatally shot Tuesday at the Mississippi Care Center in Corinth. Her estranged husband is being questioned in the crime.
Corinth Police Chief David Lancaster tells The Associated Press that the victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she died from her injuries.
Lancaster said the alleged shooter was detained about 20 miles away in the town of Booneville, and had been taken back to Corinth for questioning.
The Daily Corinthian newspaper reported that Booneville Police Chief Tim Fortenberry identified the suspect as 39-year-old Andre P- Simmons of Walnut.
Lancaster said the suspect would likely be charged and arraigned Wednesday
