Arkansas Beats Alabama in Double O.T.

The Arkansas Razorbacks start SEC play 2-0 for the first time since 1998. That was Houston Nutt's first year on the job. With his back to the wall after two losing seasons, he's got to be feeling good tonight. The Hogs win a thriller 24-23 in double overtime against Alabama in Fayetteville.

The Hogs trailed 10-3 in the 3rd when Darren McFadden stiff armed his way into the endzone for a touchdown. But the Hogs missed the extra point, so Alabama still had the lead 10-9. Not to worry, ANTWAIN ROBINSON stripped ALabama quarterback JOHN PARKER WILSON of the ball and RANDY KELLY recovered for Arkansas to take it back 39 YARDS FOR THE TD. 17-10 Arkansas.

The game went to overtime tied at 17, Alabama had a chance to win but Lee Tiffin missed a 37 field goal attempt, one of 3 costly misses in the game.  In double overtime, freshman quarterback Mitch Mustain put the ball on the money to his old high school teammate Ben Cleveland for the game tying toucdown.  The extra point was good and the Hogs put up their biggest win in some time, beating Alabama 24-23 in double overtime.
