It's going from bad to worse for the Tigers. Earlier in the week, Tommy West said his team has found ways to LOSE instead of ways to WIN. Saturday's 26-23 to Arkansas Stae was the epitome of that.
The Indians got off to a fast start, leading 17-6 ASU at the half. But the Tigers rallied in the 3rd quarter, Martin Hankins hit THE DUKE, Duke Calhoun over the middle and he's gone for a 49 yard touchdown. Then it was showtime...Hankins threw to RYAN SCOTT who heaved it for Joe Doss and it was right on the money. The Tigers took the lead 23-20.
But with 6 seconds left now and Memphis still up 3, ASU quarterback Cory Leonard threw a Hail Mary, and it went right into the hands of PATRICK HIGGINS with 5 Tiger jerseys around him.
The Indians beat the Tigers for the first time in 17 years. Even worse, defensive back Rod Smith broke the C-5 vetrabrae in his neck and is out for the season.
