RiverKings Ready for Home Opener

The first puck drops on the Memphis RiverKings 15th season here in the Memphis area Friday.

It could get dangerous on the Ice for any of the teams' Central Hockey League opponents daring to venture to the DeSoto Civic Center this year..

After an admittedly weak performance protecting the puck in what was a disastrous, '05-'06 campaign, the 'Kings added a lot of toughness in the Off-season.

Memphis won its' 2 Pre-season games against Wichita.

Head Coach Kevin McClelland declares his boys ready to skate.

  McClelland says his players now have the bulk along the defensive front to go along with intensity..  But, they obviously have to play smart, as well as rough.

The RiverKings open Season Number 15 Friday night against Youngstown at the D.C.C.
