Tigers Players Want Cooper Back on Basketball Team

In College Hoops, the Memphis Tigers welcomed back wayward teammate Kareem Cooper over the weekend after a 3-week suspension for Violation of Team rules.

Robert Dozier, Antonio Anderson, and Chris Douglas Roberts say they initiated the process.

  Anderson says:

<'We all came toghether and decided to go to coach's house to talk about it.'>

Added Dozier:

<'We're happy to have him back. We sure could have used his size against Georgia Tech.'>

  Douglas-Roberts summarized it this way:

<'I think it was just something where coach wanted to teach him a lesson.'>

As for Head Coach John Calipari's immediate plans for Cooper?

<'I want him to be the biggest cheerleader on this team, bigger than the Blue Crew, cheering for this team.'>

The team would not divulge what 6'11' Cooper did to earn what amounts to his 3rd suspension in 2-years at Memphis.

Calipari says Cooper is only cleared to practice..not to play in games just yet.

The Tigers next game is Wednesday Night against Arkansas State at FedExForum.
