Man accused of dragging officer to death denied bond

Daniel Cummings, an Ole Miss student charged in the dragging death of a University police officer, cried in court today during a bond hearing.

Lawyers for the Germantown native hoped to get the 20-year-old out of jail on bond this afternoon but a judge denied it.

Character witnesses, Daniel's father, even Daniel himself, took to the stand in a packed courtroom hoping to get Daniel Cummings out of jail and back home.

In the end, the judge cited the surveillance video capturing Officer Langley's death as a main factor.
