YOUR TURN: Governor's holiday card sends strong message

Governor's Christmas card
Governor's Christmas card

In this edition of your turn, we'll hear from Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen.

The Governor has garnered national attention and quite a bit of criticism for the Christmas Card he sent out this year. The Governor's card is a portrait of young Muslim woman from Afghanistan that he painted himself after a visit to that country.

The card expresses Bredesen's wishes for people to have peace and joy this Christmas season. On the back the governor explains, "While it may seem odd to put a portrait of young Muslim woman on a Christmas card, this Season reminds us that He loves His children most of all. May the miracle of Christmas help bring peace and hope to this young woman and her wounded land."

That's Governor Bredesen's turn. Now it's your turn. To comment on this segment or anything else, email or call 901-726-0546.
