SEC play opened with a bang for the Ole Miss Rebels Saturday night in Oxford. They hosted the Kentucky Wildcats in a rare treat, losing 68-58. It was just the 3rd time in 12 years they've opened conference play at home.
The Rebels looked good in the first half. Dwayne Curtis had 13 points and Todd Abernathy had a team high 17. Ole Miss was up two at the half, 37-35. But they went ice cold down the stretch, making only 2 buckets in the final 12 minutes. Joe Crawford took over for the Wildcats with 23 points. Kentucky shot a red hot 56 percent from the floor and downed the Rebels by 10.
