MLGW today released a copy of an email, dated 2002, written by former MLGW president Herman Morris. In it, he writes about creating a list of friends and notables that need his personal attention when they have problems with their utility bill.'
The list has about one thirty names. Mayors, city and county leaders, state representatives, editors of the Commercial Appeal and various news outlets are on the list.
A spokesperson for the utility company says based on Herman Morris' email, the list was created before Joseph Lee's tenure and no one on the list knew about its existence.
"He wanted to create a list of notables people he felt should be called should they get a cut off notice," said MGLW Corporate Communications Chief Gale Jones Carson.
