Beebe to testify before Congress on FEMA response

LITTLE ROCK (AP) - Governor Mike Beebe is to testify before a U-S House committee tomorrow about Arkansas' experiences with the Federal Emergency Management Agency following a tornado that hit Desha county.

Beebe spokesman Zac Wright said the governor is to testify tomorrow afternoon before the House Homeland Security Committee about relief efforts. Beebe's office said Congressman Mike Ross asked the governor to testify before the panel.

Beebe and Ross have both criticized the Federal government's response to last month's tornadoes in Dumas and FEMA's decision to deny emergency relief for the area.
