Memphis honors Fmr. Tiger Basketball Coach

The city of Memphis honored one of its star citizens Saturday. The city renamed Pendleton Street in honor of the winningest coach in Tiger basketball history.

The street is now Coach Larry Finch Boulevard. Finch's wife talked about the honor.

"Probably never in his dreams would he have thought that a street be named after Larry Finch, but to have it named after him in a community he loves with his family around him is a great honor. We just thank the city of Memphis for thinking that much of Larry," says Vickie Finch.

Finch is a former Tigers All-American and Head Basketball Coach.

He grew up in this area and that's why his name is linked to this street.

Coach Finch took the team to the NCAA tournament six times.
