UNDATED (AP) - The Commission on Presidential Debates is considering the University of Mississippi among the 19 sites nationwide for the 2008 presidential debates.
Other sites in the running include University of Central Arkansas and Indiana University.
The nonprofit, nonpartisan group will pick the four sites for debates between candidates for president and vice president in the 2008 general election.
The commission plans to release a list of selected sites in October.
In 2004, the University of Miami, Washington University in St. Louis and Arizona State University hosted presidential debates. Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland hosted the sole vice presidential debate.
