The Memphis Fire Department responded to a fire Wednesday afternoon at the Malco Summer Drive-In, located off Summer Avenue just east of I-240 in Memphis.

Video from Action News 5's I-240/40 traffic camera showed smoke rising from one of the drive-in theater's four screens.

Investigators said the fire was likely sparked by a homeless person living in a shed directly below the screen.

Malco officials now face the task of either repairing the screen, or tearing it down to construct a new one.

Theater officials said the drive-in's remaining three screens would continue to operate this weekend.  The outdoor theater, the largest of its type in the region, is currently only open on weekends, but is set to open seven days a week beginning Friday.
