Jermain Taylor Answers Challenger at News Conference for Border Battle (Not His Opponent)

Tension is growing in the Fight Camps two days before the big Border Battle at FedExForum...but, it involves only one of the main combatants...

At the Final News Conference downtown for the Cory Spinks - Jermain Taylor World Middleweight Championship bout...the Worlds' top Middleweight challenger on the undercard, Edison Miranda of Columbia, basically called Taylor out in his native tongue, ignoring his immediate foe, Kelly Pavlick, saying he'll make Bar B Que out of him in honor of the Memphis in May Festival going on down on the River.

Needless to say, Taylor wasn't very pleased with Miranda's remarks.

Says Taylor:  "You guys ain't nothing but money in the bank for me.  But if you talk about me, you better be ready, because i don't play, i fight!  I'll take on all of you.. whoever wants to fight.

All the while, Taylors' opponent for Saturdays' Title defense, Cory Spinks, held his tongue and remained low key.

"I just have to get through these news conferences... the weigh-in. They don't mean nothing. I'm just ready to go."

Someone who NEVER holds his tongue on ANYTHING, is Mega Fight Promoter Don King..

King showed up to today's News Conference in All His Glory...complete with American Flags, full bling, and a jacket made in his likeness..

King is promoting Spinks in this fight...and he had these words about his fighter.

"Jermain is a fine fellow, he's known as a gentleman fighter. He has beaten people folks thought he couldn't beat. Cory and he are friends, that is no secret. But, make no mistake, just like the troops in Iraq i'm on a search and destroy mission and I brought the destroyer with me."

Even though Taylor didn't talk much about Spinks at the News Conference...one of his newfound buddies did..

Mike Miller of the Memphis Grizzlies presented Taylor with one of his Jerseys at FedExForum..

Earlier in the day, Taylor visited Millers' Tent at the Bar B Que downtown..

Miller gives his thoughts on the outcome of Saturdays' Border Battle.

"No doubt bad intentions will win.. Spinks may be faster, but taylor is bigger, stronger, and a better boxer."

[The Border Battle, Taylor vs Spinks, Saturday night at FedExForum.

It'll be shown around the World on HBO.
