3 killed in crash during Missouri police chase

KNOB NOSTER, Mo. (AP) - Authorities in Missouri say a fleeing driver and his two young passengers are dead after a pre-dawn police chase.

They say the man and two boys died early yesterday.

Police say the chase began after an officer stopped a truck for speeding. They say the truck had been reported stolen in early May. When the officer approached, the driver sped away.

The officer followed the vehicle for about two miles before the driver apparently lost control while cresting a hill, then struck a fence and a tree. The driver and his 12- and 13-year-old passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said they found numerous stolen credit cards on the driver's body.
