Memphis Tigers Baseball Returns to NCAA Tournament After Long Absence

No more "Remember when" for the Memphis Tigers Baseball team..

The U of M is ready to make new memories with its' first inclusion into the NCAA Tournament since 19-94.

The Tigers get the news early Monday on the NCAA's Baseball Tournament selection show on ESPN.

Memphis is going to the Vanderbilt Regional in Nashville as the Number-3 seed.

The Tigers will play second seed Michigan on Friday

The U of M gets into the tournament with a 36-and-25 record...

Tigers Coach Daron Schoenrock says Memphis' One Run win over Second Ranked Rice in the Conference USA Tournament is what did the trick.

"We had a good series against Rice at the end of the regular season.." says Schoenrock.

"We had a couple of 1 and 2-run games against the Second ranked team in the nation at their place and that showed us we can play with them."

The Tigers play Michigan in the first game of the Vandy Regional at 2pm on Friday in Nashville.

Michigan is the Big 10 Champion.

SEC Champion Vanderbilt plays Austin Peay in the second game Friday.

Vandy is the Number One team in the Nation.
