As we approach the latter half of the Baseball season for the Memphis Redbirds, the toughest thing 'Birds fans have to realize is, even at the Triple-A- level, it's not about wins and losses..it's about the development of the players for the Major League Parent..the St. Louis Cardinals..
The Redbirds have done their job, sending as many as 6 players to the Big Club this season with Brendan Ryan being called up for a second tour of duty last night..

To say Jarrett Hofpauir is making the most of his time in Triple-A- might be the biggest understatement of the season..
Through 9-games, is hitting .357 with a homer, 3-doubles, 7-RBI's and only 4-strikouts..
Hoffpauir says he's just continuing what he did at Double-A- Springfield..which is get base hits and score runs.
Hoffpauir says, "it's one of those things you can't suspect. I got out of the car and called into the game. I was just trying to make good contact and I got a pinch hit and it went out of the park."
Says Redbirds Manager Chris Maloney,
"He's one of the best 2nd basemen I've had. Good defender and real quick out there."
Hoffpauir and the Redbirds open a 4-game set against Oklahoma Monday night at AutoZone Park.
